Fantastic History

History is amazing, as much as it is factual it is also fantasy. The fact (he he) is that we don’t what ever really happened. We have traces, but the rest is our imagined reconstructions and retellings. Our imagined history, has had huge impacts on our current self-identifications and has been, and is used to construct the people imaginations about their own identity – which mostly serves, or functions, to make people compliant with the dominant hegemonic powers. The notion of nationality is one great example, religion is another. Whatever we belief. The part of my blog will play around history … wonder about facts … imagine historical event … and ultimately I hope it will shape the basis of one of the major projects I would like to embark on: A historical epic novel, starting with the events of the likely major civilisations prior to the last ice age. Now, I am clearly into fantasy, but in so many ways to more fantastic that our current imaginations around what we called our ancient civilisations. We have so much more to learn, but also so much more to imagine. And that is fun!! More to come.
