Simply about my take on living simple
El Joako is my nickname in Colombia, where I have been residing recently. But, I consider myself as a global child. Although I was born in Denmark, my parents brought me to Kenya when I was 3 years old. Since then I also grew up in Tanzania, and have been living and travelling to a wide range of countries such as Russia, Somalia, Liberia, Indonesia and Colombia. I therefore do not have particular strong nationalist attachments and feelings – although I do like the Danish national football team.
As a globalist, I find national borders an infringement on life, nationalism a depression of humanity, and that nation-states constitutes an angle chain holding back progress and development in our world.
Mainstream news and social media has become so demeaning and dominating, and impossible to participate in, giving rise to a lot of frustration that tends to pile up inside you. So I decided to start my own blog, where I can let out my heartfelt feelings, views and perspectives on life and the world that we live in.
I dont have any expectations of people following my blog or reading my outpourings. This is mainly a vent to relieve my heart and share my thoughts so they dont fester inside me.
I want to find a positive angle on how to live in an increasingly dark and depressive world. You got it, my respect for humanity is probably at an all time low. Maybe I can change that, and create some hope and community.
I will therefore also use my blog to share stuff and photos on health, lifestyle, nature and travel, and other things that may come up, as a way of creating a positive and beautiful enviro.
